GLHFH is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and was established in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1988. Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian ministry that builds good-quality, affordable housing in partnership with qualifying low-income families.
Over the last twenty-five years, GLHFH has built and sold 282 new homes, housing 382 adults and 563 children. Our mission is enabled by the generosity of Lynchburg's faith and business communities and individual supporters. Our goal is to eliminate substandard living conditions for Lynchburg families.

The following Lynchburg churches, along with partners and volunteers, have made the current two projects possible: Calvary Baptist; Grace Memorial Episcopal; Saint Andrew's Presbyterian; Heritage UMC; Timberlake Christian; Saint Thomas More; and Covenant Presbyterian.
The restoration of an awesome energy-efficient three bedroom home at 407 Wise Street is almost ready for the Shirley Crawford family, who will move in on June 2, 2014.
A very spacious and lovely five bedroom home is being restored for the Stephen and Gabrielle Gerling family. They and their four beautiful children are very excited about moving into their new home at 1708 Pierce Street on June 23, 2014.
Volunteers are always needed, even for sponsored builds. If you'd like to get involved, please call Susan at 434.528.3774.
