Our Mission:
As a Christian housing ministry, GLHFH in Lynchburg, Virginia will provide low-income families with opportunities and tools to be successful homeowners.
About Greater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity:
GLHFH is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and was established in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1988. Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian ministry that builds high-quality, decent, affordable housing in partnership with God’s people in need.
Over the last twenty-five years, GLHFH has built 280 new homes, housing 379 adults and 563 children. The process of building homes for qualified families continues through the generosity of the Lynchburg business community, houses of faith, and individual contributors. The goal of Habitat for Humanity is not just about building houses but building lives and communities, one home at a time.

We at GLHFH have a small, dedicated staff that perform key functions. However, we would not be successful without the continued commitment of our volunteers. Some of the volunteer support activities include the following:
Participating with our construction crew (Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday)
Serving on committees
Serving on the Board of Directors
Administrative support
Encouraging companies or congregations to support GLHFH
Providing food and refreshment to special work crews
